Description of the project: Strengthen clarity in transparency provisions and quality of reporting procedures and requirements as per the UNFCCC guidance and enhance mitigation actions in Nepal.
Description of services provided: a) Support current NDC enhancement process by providing inputs and information related MRV and enhancing transparency provisions; b) Understanding requirements and feasibility to develop national level emission factors as per the guidance on IPCC good practice guidelines and existing practices; c) Establishing a mechanism to regularly report reliable, accurate data from the provincial level to the national level, including agreement with governments; and d) Development of a framework to track progress and to feed into the reporting on targets achievement included in the NDC.

6. Enhancing Green Economy in 3 countries of Asia (EGEA)

The major objectives of the projects are:

  1. Endorsement of green practices within HEIs
  2. Development of modular programs that reinforces knowledge and practice on green economy to be integrated within existing or new programs in beneficiary HEIs.
  3. Enhancement of lifelong learning through professional blended courses oriented to adult education in green economy and related areas.
  4. Reinforcement of Public Affairs Departments and Marketing Units to facilitate the role HEIs as promotor of green behavior in local society
  5. Deployment of promotional campaigns and programs that fosters green behavior among schools and colleges.
  6. Application of sound management tools throughout the life of the project.

9. Project on Feasibility Study for the Solid Waste Management Practices in Gandaki Province

Description of the project: This project was signed between the Gandaki Province Government, Gandaki Province Policy and Planning Commission, Pokhara, Nepal (First party), and the Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University (Second Party) on April 2024 in the G2G model. The four different natures of municipalities, i.e., Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kusma Municipality, Gaidakot Municipality, and Chame Rural Municipality of the Province were chosen for the study. In a long-term approach, this study has picturized to achieve a zero-landfill future for municipal waste of Gandaki Province through comprehensive source reduction strategies.
