Dr. Indira Parajuli is permanent faculty in the Central Department of Environmental Science, at Tribhuvan University. She is interested in the field of climate change, air quality modeling, indoor environment, and its control, health risk analysis, ventilation design and application, exposure analysis, air pollution control technology, etc. She was involved in the Department of Applied Science, Pulchowk Engineering Campus in the Climate Change Development Program, where she was instructing about the climate-smart agriculture system and current food insecurity due to the effect of climate change. She received a patent for her research work on temperature-neutral height for healthy ventilation.

She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Incheon National University, South Korea. She was a Researcher at Incheon National University under the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from 2012 to 2017. She was an assistant professor at Sapta Gandaki Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal from 2005-2006 and she served as an Assistant Professor at Nepal Poly-technique Institute, Nepal from 2009-2012.

She gained knowledge about how to ensure efficient use of resources for sustainable low-carbon economic growth, increasing access to energy for the poor, and promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency while she was involved in the capacity of Researcher at Asian iNstitute for Environmental Research and enerGY (A.NERGY), INU, South Korea. Moreover, she handled the issues relating to sustainability, green, and resilience among 21 Asian Countries. She was fully involved as a focal point for conducting the A.NERGY Conference annually including the Journal/ Proceedings publications. Additionally, she was Involved as a Researcher in the Green Village Project of A.NERGY for Kagati Gaun, Nuwakot, Nepal. She developed the Green Village concept design to make the village self-reliant and self-sustained. The concept focuses on the exploration of green, clean alternative energy sources locally to make them self-reliant and self-sustained. Moreover, she published the Green Village Design concept and its implementation modality as a reference document for the sake of making the people and place self-reliant and self-sustaining using alternative sources of local green energy. She feels proud to share that the concept of Green Village Design is also being adopted by the UNDP, Kazakhstan as one of the member countries of A.NERGY.

She has been involved as a Team Leader for the development of an Environmental Friendly Local Governance (EFLG) Guideline for the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration that guides to design and implementation of Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience. Moreover, she has been involved as a Resource Person (RP) for Mayors' training in 2017 and 2022 right after the local elections in Nepal. She has also been involved as a training Content Design Expert in the matter of Environment and Sustainable development.

She has received the Environmental Protection Award 2074, awarded from the Ministry of Forest and Environment and received from Rt. Honorable President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. Likewise, she has been awarded as Young Scientist Award 2075 from Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, received from Rt. Honorable Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

She has over 24 years of professional experience and over 45 publications including Textbooks, Journal articles, Research reports, conference papers, and domestic publications. In addition, several National level and Domestic level Research and Development (R&D) projects have been carried out in the field of climate change, green development, indoor air quality, pollution control technology, and modeling work. Moreover, she worked for the UNDP, the European Union, ILO, the World Bank, and the Helvetas (Swiss) project with direct consultation and connection with the government of Nepal.
