PhD student Ashok Baniya has published an article entitled 'Difference in Fish Assemblage Amidst Diversion Hydropower Dams in the Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers of the Gandaki Basin, Nepal' in the International Journal of Zoology. This article deals with the influence of run-of-the-river hydropower dams on fish assemblages in the dewatered stretch in the Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers of the Gandaki Basin, Nepal. The study provides critical insights into water quality parameters determining fish community structures in the Nepal Himalaya and offers useful information on sustainable hydropower development by adopting mitigating measures for restoring riverine fish diversity.
